Goodbye Livejournal, Hello Website!

This is my last post on this live journal.

My LJ has moved. I've finally got out of my prolonged spells of ennui and sloth to buy server space and sync it up with my two year old domain name, to have a brand new website.

The new address where I have moved is http://www.harishenoy.com . All my entries will be posted here henceforth.

I've long since tried to figure out why I had maintained a blog and a live journal, but never found an answer that I could convince myself with.

All my old entries have been imported onto my site, comments and all, in case you want to find them there. I am going to miss LJ for the friends' only posts, the moods and current music fields, as well as the other features that made me like it as much as, if not more than blogger.

For those few limited bunch of people who have linked me (for which you deserve many thanks, in the very least), I'd appreciate it if you were to update your link to reflect my new site.

Onward to Rock you like a 'Hari'cane for awesomeness unleashed!!!

So long, and thanks for all the hits!

You gathered the useful information people would find interesting here.

I've noticed the same issues with DVD Shrink on my stand-alone player. I don't know if it's something that Nero buggers up on or what in the burning phase potentially. My recommendation: If it ain't broke why fix it? If DVD Xcopy works then I'd continue to use it until it doesn't work anymore. That's just my own personal opinion but then I'm lazy - when I find something that works I stick to it. I've had great success with DVD Decrypter and Nero Recode but for some reason those movies just do not want to play on my stand-alone Allegro ABV-341 (Zenith unit) properly. Skips/stutters but they play perfectly on my Polaroid. If I do a movie with DVD Xcopy the copies play perfectly on both. The only difference I can really note is the fact that DVD Xcopy uses the Patton Couffin interface for burning. I also notice that to do Nightmare on Elm Street 2 (I never had real success for this playing properly in my Zenith until now with Xcopy) that it took 50+ minutes to do a backup with the encoding phase of either Shrink/Recode2. With Xcopy it took 28 minutes to read the DVD and another 13-14 minutes at 4x. Kprobe2 results were fantastic with a PO average of 2.02 and PI average of 0.01 so it was by no means a coaster. This is with using Ritek/Ridata 4x DVD+R media with a DVD-Rom booktype.I really can't complain about Xcopy at this point, guess I'll keep using it here and see how I continue to do. I'd recommend the same really - as I said, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. :)

NATO takes over command of military operations in Libya

NATO is taking over command of military operations in Libya from coalition forces, world media reported Sunday.

The UN Security Council imposed the no-fly zone over Libya on March 17, along with ordering "all necessary measures" to protect civilians from Muammar Gaddafi's attacks on rebel-held towns.

The 28 NATO ambassadors met on Sunday to decide on further military plans in Libya.

The United States transfers command for a no-fly zone over Libya to NATO, while coalition forces will continue to protect civilian population from attacks by Gaddafi forces.

The military operation in Libya, codenamed Odyssey Dawn, has been conducted so far jointly by 13 states, including the United States, Britain and France.

NATO members decided on Thursday to assume responsibility for the enforcement of a no-fly zone in Libya, but could not agree on taking full command of all military operations in the country.

Meanwhile, leaders of the 27 European Union states on Thursday issued a statement saying the EU stood ready to assist in building a new Libya "in cooperation with the United Nations, the Arab League, the African Union and others."
